Logistical Information for
Students and Postdocs Logistical Information for
Senior Participants and Instructors ICEBREAKER
RECEPTION
The icebreaker reception is on July 13, starting at 5pm. Please arrive in time to attend the
icebreaker.
The icebreaker will be located in Manzanita
Village on the UC Santa Barbara campus. It will be in Quad 3 in the Los
Robles Area (see map).
TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION FOR ALL
PARTICIPANTS Airfare Fares have increased
dramatically from the program in 2006, so we prefer to purchase your airfare
as soon as possible as rates seem to be going up steadily as we get closer to
the summer. The airport in Santa Barbara is small and is serviced by select
commercial airlines, which limits the options of travelers, especially those
also traveling from small airports. Transportation from the Santa Barbara Airport The Santa Barbara
Airport
is less than 2 miles from the UCSB campus. FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE for participants
residing ON CAMPUS: UCSB
Campus Conference Services provides a shuttle service to all participants
only coming from the SANTA BARBARA AIRPORT and the GOLETA AIRBUS. Please call
the DeAnza Front Desk at (805) 893-6161 only after
your have picked up your luggage. A shuttle will arrive shortly saying UCSB
Conference Services. They will then take you to Manzanita Village to
check-in. You must phone upon arrival
if you wish to use the free shuttle service to UCSB from the Santa Barbara
Airport or from the Santa Barbara Airbus Goleta drop-off site. The shuttle will not automatically be at
either location. They will pick you up within 10-15 minutes of receiving
your call, and you will be dropped off at the residence hall where you are
staying. The shuttle operates between 7am and 1am. Other transportation from the airport options include: -SuperRide

system that has routes from UCSB throughout the area and into the city of
