Logistical information including lodging and travel information.

We strongly encourage our participants to bring their laptops, and, if they have that possibility, to bring them with wireless capabilities. At KITP,there are only a limited number of "seats" at computer workstations, most of which are Macintoshes. There are a larger number of ethernet ports, however these are limited too. You will have more options if you have a laptop and a wireless card (wireless connection is free). (More information about computing and laptop policy at KITP). Residence halls have an ethernet connection in each room.

It should be quite warm, but weather in Santa Barbara can be unpredictable, with fog coming in and out from the ocean, cooling the air significantly. The average summer temperature is 70 deg F. Make sure to bring summer clothes but also sweaters and a windbreaker jacket. Bring comfortable shoes as Kohn Hall is located 15mn walk from the dorms and dining halls.
